It's A Lock-In Christmas Special

Jen, Andy, Maybe Peter, Definitely Peter and for one night only Mr Paul Simpson bring you the Christmas Countdown on The Cat!!!!!!!!! We'll keep you updated on Santa's progress, and eat a mince pie in your honour x

The Meeting Of The Peters

No... it's not Zaphod Beeblebrox, it is the long awaited meeting of the two Peters. Maybe Peter does not look too impressed with his term time substitute Definitely Peter. I can't decide which Peter is cuter (mainly because I can't tell them apart).

In more photo news, check out the latest additions in our 'Gallery' section of the blog. I have uploaded a couple of pics of 7 Day Weekend, who joined us last Saturday.

Luv Jen x

7 Day Weekend!

This Saturday we are joined by 7 Day Weekend - a Pop-Punk 5 piece from Warrington. Formed mid 2010, members Calan Nickle (Vocals), Clayton Leah (Rhythm Guitar), Tom Hancox (Lead Guitar), Dan Hancox (Bass) and John Handy (Drums) started off aiming as high as possible... And the ball hasn't stopped rolling, as they've gone from Calan's old garage to Manchester Academy 3 in just over a year. They've played along side huge talents such as Pacific, Destine, The Back Up Plan, Better Left Alone, Calais, Above The Underground, Leopards, Tall Trees and That Sunday Feeling and Attack! Attack!

Get your questions in for the band to jen.vc@thisisthecat.com or leave them as a comment below. Or when we are on air email the studio on studio@thisisthecat.com or text 01270 266877.

Tune in at 11pm Saturday. www.thisisthecat.com

Canned Heat Shenanigans

A few weeks back Maybe Peter had the kind thought of setting up our show for us. As he is so very familiar with the Lock-In he selected the music as follows...

(If you're confused...that's two hours of nothing but Canned Heat!)

So...last night, Maybe Peter contacted the show to let us know that because we play Canned Heat so often we actually come top of the list if you Google Canned Heat!

(turned out he was kidding)

Luv Jen x

The Twelve Days Of Christmas

On last night's show, as well as all the fantastic music, Andy and Jen re-wrote (and sang - sorry) the song "The Twelve days Of Christmas" but with a Late Night Lock-In twist... everything had to be something you could get from a late night petrol station!

Here's what we came up with....

Twelve brickettes burning

Eleven Flowers a drooping

Ten Teddies a hugging

Nine Leather chamois a dripping

Eight Petrol cans a leaking

Seven Tow ropes a fraying

Six Stale sandwiches a stinking

FIVE MAGIC TREES

Four Turtle wax

Three Tax disc holders

Two Bottles of de-icer

And a packet of out of date tea

Christmas Movies

On last Saturday's Lock-In Andy and Jen talked about those special films that Christmas doesn't feel Christmassy enough without. Thanks to all the listeners who got in touch. With your help, Jen's top 3 turned into a top ten!!

Here is the list Jen finally settled on (in reverse order)....

10. Die Hard (any)

9. Mary Poppins

8. Wizard Of Oz

7. White Christmas

6. Miracle on 34th Street (either version)

5. Nightmare Before Christmas

4. Sound Of Music

3. Muppet Christmas Carol

2. Polar Express

and...

1. It's A Wonderful Life
