7 Day Weekend!

This Saturday we are joined by 7 Day Weekend - a Pop-Punk 5 piece from Warrington. Formed mid 2010, members Calan Nickle (Vocals), Clayton Leah (Rhythm Guitar), Tom Hancox (Lead Guitar), Dan Hancox (Bass) and John Handy (Drums) started off aiming as high as possible... And the ball hasn't stopped rolling, as they've gone from Calan's old garage to Manchester Academy 3 in just over a year. They've played along side huge talents such as Pacific, Destine, The Back Up Plan, Better Left Alone, Calais, Above The Underground, Leopards, Tall Trees and That Sunday Feeling and Attack! Attack!

Lock-In 19th November

Wow the studio was shaking on Saturday with the rhythm of djembes rattling Cat Towers all thanks to the amazing Djembe Dave. Little Peter was new to djembe playing, but by the end Dave Jen and Peter were playing a three part rhythm!! Dave is currently based on a narrowboat in Chester. Ash Before Oak

Ash Before Oak were totally fantastic on last night's Lock-In! Thank you so much to Mark Armor and Peter Griffin for playing live for us, and to all the many listeners who got in touch with us throughout the show. We played three tracks from their EP 'Lifetime' (available from iTunes HERE), and they played a further three songs live.

Coming on tomorrow night's Lock-In.....

Ash Before Oak

Ash Before Oak are an English pop group from Northwich in Cheshire.

They released their first single, You Make Me Me, in September 2009. The single was recorded in an attic above a garage with little more than an Apple Mac and a 4 Track recorder. However, the single still managed to get airplay on several BBC radio stations from the strength of the songwriting and received praise from Mark Radcliffe amongst others.

In September 2010, they released the first single from the upcoming EP. A Girl Like You quickly became their most popular single to date and was the first song by the band to be accompanied by a music video. The song was also featured in Si Wall's film 'Speed Date'.

Don't Dally Sally was released in December 2010 alongside a music video which featured cardboard houses, gigantic robots and explosions!

Ash Before Oak released their debut EP, Lifetime, in August 2011 and are currently working on a soundtrack for an upcoming film.

Nigel Beck Gets Locked In
